I'm excited to share that, for the second year in a row, I've been selected as a finalist for the Our State Magazine "Made in NC Awards!" The piece selected this year, "Froggy Went A'Courtin" is the first print in a series of Folk Instruments that I'll be creating
over the next few years. Each print in this series will feature an instrument and corresponding folk song.
I've got several exciting events coming up, and new work to share, so read on to find out what I've been up to!

What's New: Pileated Woodpecker
I'm trying something new this month! I'm giving my email subscribers the first chance to buy my new block print, "Pileated Woodpecker," before I make it available for sale to the general public (on Saturday, October 2nd.) This will give y'all
dibs on the lowest numbered prints in the edition.* I'll be reserving prints in the order that folks email me-- so if you want to snag the first print from this block, click here now! :)
* Limited Edition of 80 Prints. Cost: $109, Size: 13x19 (matboard included)

The spiders have completely taken over our woods these past few weeks. It seems like I can't walk the trails these days without getting an orb weaver caught in my hair :). This Yellow Garden Spider was the biggest I've ever seen. If you've taken any cool wildlife pics
recently that you think would make good reference photography for my work, send them to me!

Art in the Arboretum- October 3rd, 12pm-5pm. I'm headed to my first event in Greensboro! I'm still building up my customer base there, so if you have friends in this area who would like my work, send them over to meet me! See the Greensboro Beautiful website for information about this event.

Artsplosure- October 9th and 10th. The Art Market is open from 11am-7pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. Please note that the Art Market will be open Sunday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am specifically for patrons with accessibility
needs! I'm really excited to be juried into this Art Festival-- it's a big one and I'm not sure what to expect, so I'd sure love to see y'all's friendly faces stop by my booth. Click here for more information.

One goal of mine is to share more process videos with y'all. Printmaking is an inky, messy, fabulously satisfying process. It doesn't always look instagram perfect in my studio, but I think y'all will enjoy seeing how I make these prints. Here's a super sped up version of me pulling my
Bobwhite and Thistle Artist Proofs.
Like many of you, I've been hearing about anticipated mail slow downs, and increased shipping costs this holiday season. In order to get out ahead of this, I'm trying two things. First, I'm offering free shipping for the month of October. I want my work to be
accessible to folks, and I don't want shipping costs to price y'all out. Secondly,
I've developed a local pickup program-- available as a checkout option on my website: www.newsouthpatternhouse.com, which will allow you contactless pick up from my Hillsborough studio. This will be especially helpful if you're worried about slow delivery times, or if you just can't wait to get your prints :).
I'll see how these two policies work for the month of October, and that can inform my choices for the busy months of November and December.
I appreciate y'all!
