Hi Y'all,

It's February, and I am so excited to share with y'all my new print this month! It's a chickadee and I think it might be the cutest mini print I've ever made! My spring show calendar is also starting to fill up, so make sure you check and see where you can find New South in person this month. I've also got some updates on pieces that have been restocked. What's New: Chickadee Mini Print

Spring is approaching in the NC piedmont, and for my print release this month, I wanted to make a piece that represented the changing of the seasons. One sight I look forward to each year is the blooming of the redbuds. In my newest print, "Chickadee in the Redbud Tree," a charismatic Carolina Chickadee is all puffed up, to protect itself from the cold, but the sunrise behind him and the budding flowers let us know that the chill wont last for long.

A Walk in the Woods:

This weekend, I was hiking with my family at the Eno River State park when we came across a great blue heron hunting. I'm always looking for great reference photos I can use in future block prints, so you can imagine my excitement to meet this photogenic bird. I've uploaded a video of him hunting, along with some of my other trail camera captures to my you tube channel, in case folks are curious to see how I gather inspiration for my pieces.
