What is this event? I'm opening up my studio, along with over 100 other artists in Orange County, as part of the Orange County Artist Guild's Annual Studio
tour. To see a complete list of all the participating artists,
click here. They also have a really good interactive map you can use to plan your trip. I'm at spot #2 on the map.
When is this event?
Dates: November 4th, 5th, and 11th, 12th. 2023
Hours: 10-5 on Saturdays and Noon to 5 on Sundays.
Address: 2405 Mandy Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278
Parking/Directions
My house is located at 2405 Mandy Lane, Hillsborough, NC. It's a white house on the corner of Mandy Lane and Ericka Drive, with a gravel driveway. You can pull off to the side of my driveway to park, or-- if those spots are all full, you can park along the side of the road in front of the house.
Once you park, you can walk around the left side of the main house (your left if you're walking in from the street) and use my brand new studio entrance, which will take you across a flagstone path and up a short flight of steps onto the back deck.
FAQ
Are children allowed? Yes! Absolutely. I'll have some toys/craft supplies out to help keep them occupied, but please be responsible for
watching them because I do have sharp tools in my workspace.
Are there any parts of your house that will be closed? Yes! I have two young children and want to respect their privacy. Except for use as a bathroom, I'd like for us to
avoid the main house and stick to the studio (It's a detached building) and the adjacent deck.
Is your studio wheelchair accessible? Unfortunately, no. My main workspace is on the second story, and most of the shopping will
take place in a 1st floor covered area on my porch. Both locations have small sets of stairs.
Are you located near any of the other artists on the tour? Yes! Artist
Anita Mills (#1 on the tour brochure) also lives in my neighborhood, which is called Cascades, so I encourage y'all to check out her work while you are visiting.
What can I expect to do at your studio? You'll be able to see my workspace, shop for artwork, and ask me questions about my process. I'll do a printmaking demonstration each day at 2:00. In addition to my normal block print offerings, this year I've been prepping a framed print sale-- with lots of small work already prepped to hang right on the wall.
In addition to my usual hand-pulled prints in clear protective bags, I'll also have lots of
gift wrap, cards, and bookmarks for your holiday needs. I'll also have some examples of my
fabric and wallpaper designs for you to see.
What if I'm not local? If you don't live locally or can't make it to the tour, don't worry-- I still love y'all. I'll keep on sharing my process with you on
instagram and
you tube, and I've also got some new print releases planned for the next few months. You can also see a lot of cool shots of my studio in
this article, which was just published this week.
