Studio Update, July 12th 2022

It was great to connect with so many of you at the Festival for the Eno, and I was so proud to receive the award for "Best 2D Art"! I'm in the studio for the rest of this month, working on some new pieces, and stocking up for my upcoming
events. Scroll down for details on where to find me these next few months.
I've also got a beautiful new Green Heron for this month's print release. I'm really proud of this one, and I hope you love it as much as I do. Finally, I'll take a moment and highlight my new line of NC themed giftwrap for y'all, share why I decided to add this product to my shop, and let you know how you can support me as I grow this line.
Read on y'all,
Katie

What's New: "Green Heron"
In this print, a colorful Green Heron is perched over a stream, with a spray of buttonbush overhead, and a juvenile smallmouth bass swimming under the water below. I was actually hoping to finish this piece in time for the raffle at Eno fest, but-- alas-- the inks I use take a long time to dry and I ended up donating a pileated woodpecker print instead.
I'm giving my email subscribers the first chance to buy this little Heron before I make it available for sale to the general public (on Thursday, July 14th.) I'll be reserving prints in the order that folks email me, so click here if you want to try and snag the first print in this edition! :)

The Backstory: North Carolina gift-wrap
When I first got the idea to create a line of regional, NC inspired gift-wrap last year, I knew it could be something really special for a few reasons.
- North Carolina is awesome, and full of beautiful things to illustrate.
- It would allow my existing customers to emphasize the "local" in their local artwork gift purchases.
- It would allow me to consistently keep a product in stock for my retail partners-- a challenge for me since I sell my hand-pulled block prints in small editions (under 100 imprints per carving.)
This gift wrap has become one of my best selling products at shows and festivals, and I'm already working on new patterns to add to the line. I'm also researching brick and mortar retail stores to partner with, and that's where I need you. Tell me where you buy local! If you know of an independently owned gift-shop, bookstore, or boutique that you think would
be a good fit for my brand, send me an email and tell me about them!
NC Creators Magazine Article
I shared this last month, but I've had quite a few folks join my list since then, so I'm sharing in case y'all missed it.
Husband and wife powerhouse Wiley and Mallory Cash, (yes, NY times best-selling author Wiley
Cash) came to my studio and interviewed me for the June feature of their series on creatives working in NC. Read the article at Walter Magazine here.

Here's a process video I made so y'all can see how I made the Green Heron prints! This is the process speed up, I'm not this fast in real life :)
Y'all always make my days better! Thanks for giving me a chance to make art for your homes, your special occasions, and your lives. I appreciate you!
